Description

George Remus, a notorious Cincinnati bootlegger in the 1920's, made headlines in 1927 when he mudered his wife Imogene in broad daylight in a local park. Author Craig Holden used Remus' story as the basis for his fictional novel, The Jazz Bird.

The newspaper articles used in this presentation were reprinted with the permission of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, copyright 1924.
